FoodMed Visits Seattle, Washington

FoodMed, the nation’s premier conference on sustainable foods & the health care sector, will hold its 2011 conference in Seattle, Washington on October 18-19. FoodMed 2011 is a great opportunity for leaders in the health care sector and vendors of products and services which support sustainable food systems to meet.

This conference is designed to help participants incorporate sustainable and nutritious food purchasing at their facilities, and learn cost effective strategies that emphasize health concerns that meet the unique needs of healthcare and facilitate the development of healthy communities. Presentations will be geared towards healthcare providers, dieticians, food service directors and food procurement and distribution professionals.

		FoodMed Announces Oran Hesterman as a Keynote Speaker Oran Hesterman will speak at FoodMed 2011 on the afternoon of October 19. Oran is Founder, President and CEO of Fair Food Network and author of FAIR FOOD: Growing A Healthy Sustainable Food System for All. For those who want to be a part of the fair food movement, Dr. Hesterman’s menu for change suggests how we can participate in collective action to precipitate the transformation of our food system, from the kitchen to the community to the state house to the White House. more info
